Dr. Viviana Stellenwerf - Your Partner in Dental Health at Stellenwerf Dental Studio. Let's talk about something that affects us all - cavities. These pesky little holes in our teeth can cause big problems if left unchecked. But fear not, there are simple steps we can take to prevent them and keep our smiles shining bright. Dr. Viviana Stellenwerf from Stellenwerf Dental Studio is here to share some tips on cavity prevention.

First and foremost, regular dental check-ups are crucial. Dr. Stellenwerf recommends visiting the dentist every six months for a thorough cleaning and examination. This allows any potential issues to be caught early before they escalate into cavities.

Another key factor in cavity prevention is good oral hygiene habits. Brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and flossing daily can go a long way in keeping cavities at bay. Dr. Stellenwerf emphasizes the importance of proper technique while brushing and flossing to ensure all areas are cleaned effectively.

Watch what you eat! Sugary and acidic foods can contribute to cavity formation. Dr. Stellenwerf suggests limiting sugary snacks and beverages and opting for tooth-friendly choices like fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, like cheese!

Lastly, consider dental sealants. These thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars can provide an extra layer of defense against cavities, especially for children who may have difficulty with thorough brushing.

Remember, prevention is always better than cure when it comes to cavities.  There are obviously may factors involved in cavity propagation such as diet, frequency, health conditions, dexterity issues etc, but visiting the dentist regularly helps to catch things sooner rather than later.
